Treatment Train Alternatives

This section reviews the formation of three alternative treatment trains, using the decision matrices mentioned for each treatment. The matrices were used to form the trains based on each process and the ranked technologies. Treatment trains were created based on pairings CJE selected to create efficient, suitable, and a practical treatment.

Treatment Train Alternatives

The treatment train alternatives were Treatment Train #1 seen as Figure 1, Treatment Train #2 seen as Figure 2, and Treatment Train #3 seen as Figure 3. The train shows the water process throughout its entirety along with chemical additions and brine management in green arrows.

Treatment Train Scoring Criteria

Each alternative for physical separation was given a score from one to three. One being the least suitable alternative and three being the most suitable from the given criteria. The following table provides how each criteria was scored with the reasoning. It also provides the reasoning for the weighting of each criterion.

Treatment Train Decision Matrix

Using the scoring criteria for treatment train, the decision matrix was created to find the most suitable treatment train. The decision matrix below is a simplified decision matrix, you can find the complete matrix in the final report, Appendix AF: Scoring, Weighting, and Decision Matrix for Final Treatment Train.

Final Recommendation

Clearwater Jacks Engineering recommends using Treatment Train #3 due to texceled at having operational flexibility, short construction time, low land usage, and peak treatment performance but had a high cost and a large footprint. After weighing these criteria, the treatment train alternative with the best weighted score from the decision matrix was Treatment Train #3.
